Where Jane talks about everything on her mind…and yes, as usual, there is quite a lot on her mind.

The Role of Jackie

For all you Flirting with Forty lovers who’ve been wanting movie details, the role of Jackie has not only been cast, but made public this morning.

Heather LocklearI’ve known for a couple of weeks that they’d cast Heather Locklear in Jackie’s role, and I knew it’s to be a holiday movie for Lifetime this December, but I wasn’t at liberty to share the details. However, now that there’s news in the press and online, I thought those of you who’ve wanted to hear the details would enjoy the update.

While I’m not free to say anything about Kai yet, I will say they’ve offered the part to an actor who actually looks a lot like Kai in my mind so it’ll be fun to see what happens. I hope he takes the part. He’s a hot actor as my friend Mitchy says and he’d be great playing against Heather. I just wonder if he can surf…

Here’s to the movie, and here’s to hoping it’ll be another successful Lifetime film!

Unfortunately, I’m disappointed in the choice of Heather Locklear. I think she is a good actor but, casting her as Jackie just doesn’t fit.

  15. That’s fantastic news, Jane!! So excited for you! :-)

Congratulations! That exciting news about the movie. I even put a sticky note on December to make sure I look for the time and date it shows. Heather Locklear will be awsome as Jackie. She’s almost as pretty as you. I love this book and I can’t wait for the movie.

  24. Teri says:

I can’t wait till this movie comes out. The best guy to play Kai is an actor who was in a movie called Tempted with Virigina Madsen named
“Jason Momoa” who is Hawaiian. He is so hot and would be perfect for this role.

  25. Rita Wray says:

I can’t wait to see the movie. Heather is perfect for the role

  28. Danielle says:

I have to say I loved ” flirting with 40 but I feel like Heather Locklear as the character of Jackie is waaaay off. She’s a Hollywood starlet.. not a soccor mom coming into her own. Where is she struggling to understand she might be attractive to a 30 year old????

  29. Susan says:

I agree with Danielle about Heather.. although she’s a very pretty actress with experience she falls short of the character of ” Jackie “. I feel like Jackie was sold out for mainstream Hollywood. She doesn’t even have red hair. Please Jane… be careful of who you choose for this movie. It’s touched hearts of women everywhere and it was very real… we want it kept that way.

  30. Paula says:

Awesome news Jane. It’s so wonderful and exciting to see how things are opening for you. Your the best. Paula Hardin
