I just heard Joshua Tree the other day and was reminded why that album is just RIDICULOUSLY GOOD. I mean…it’s spiritual.

And I would have the 30Something on the island, just for the theme music alone!

Mozart would sound incredible, wouldn’t it? And REM goes without saying..

Listen: U2′s Joshua Tree, Mozart Requiem, Pierce Turner “Sky and the Ground”. Automatic for the People is right up there, Liza!! I used to put “Drive” on repeat until I developed a mental illness. Read: Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe. (I don’t care what anybody says! it’s got recipes! it’s got gossip! It’s set in the 30′s! Love it forever!) The Gift of Asher Lev by Chaim Potok. The Country Bunny and the Little Golden Shoes by Dubose Heyward. This book was everything I wanted my childhood to be, but wasn’t.
Watch: Steel Magnolias. (don’t you be judgin’ me!!) Wings of Desire. Episodes of thirty-something. Gotta get a big variety for the desert island! Emotion to lose: rejection.

Liza, the best part about the desert island would be that nobody would be around to listen to me rant while I was watching the football feed — “I can’t believe you blew that coverage! What were you THINKING?!?!”

Love your choices! I think series’ will be accepted by the desert island gods. Harry Potter, LOTR…I’ll allow it.

I think Outlander would be awesome, too. Really epic and sweeping…perfect choice.

As I’ve said – I love the Ray LaMontagne – he’s amazing. I love Trouble. The whole album is pretty spectacular – Shelter is one of my faves.

I’m a little late to the party here, but:

On a hot summer night, would you offer your throat to the wolf with the red roses?

Ray Lamontagne!!!!!!! I LOVE “Trouble” (just gave in and downloaded it today) and “You Are the Best Thing,” and am strangely fascinated with “Meg White”. GREAT stuff!

Verdi Cries. Sigh. We always go back to that, don’t we?

I couldn’t exist without access to U2 and Third Day music. But then, I don’t breathe without music in general, so I think I’d probably be lining up for that solar powered ipod too!

Harry Potter, I think yes, probably. But also MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING and PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (he’s walking! he’s walking!) And I’d probably need LOTR in there too. That’s off the top of my head though and as a movie FREAK, I’m sure there’d be a lot of back and forthing going on there.

If LOST hasn’t ended yet, then there’d better be a satellite feed to that dang island. Maybe it’ll actually be Craphole Island itself after all! Hey, if Sawyer’s there, I’d be more than willing…

Books? Why, yours and Jane’s, of course! (Commence sucking up now.)

Need to have my bible, even if I’m still just dusting it off from time to time. Would need La Nora’s Montana Sky and Gabaldon’s OUTLANDER – at least the 1st 3 in the series.
Jury’s still out beyond that.

Never mind that one never actually knows that they’re about to be stranded on a desert island…

Julie! I love the idea of a live feed of football playing in your desert island. I imagine a palm frond recliner with little monkey butlers bringing your bud light. Awesome.

I would have to have my loaded (and hopefully solar-powered) iPod with everything ever recorded by Elton John, John Mayer (I know he’s a jerk, but I do love his music), and Ray LaMontagne.

I would bring my husband and 2 kids as my 3 things to watch.

Read…hmm…tough one. The Bible (for me), the Harry Potter series (for the kids), and A Brief History of Time (for my husband).

I would never make it stranded on a deserted island…but thanks for making me think! Great blog!
