Promise Me, Cowboy by CJ Carmichael

Jane-&-Carla-at-tea

CJ Carmichael is my girl.  I met her back before my second son, Ty, was even born.  She and I were still unpublished authors attending a writer’s conference in Victoria, BC.  We met Barbara Dunlop that weekend and the three of us became fast friends.  CJ was the first of us to sell, and then Barb and I sold to Harlequin, too, soon after.  Every year for years CJ, Barb and I did a writer’s retreat together and I wouldn’t be who I am today if it weren’t for CJ’s support, encouragement, and great writing critiques.

I am so excited about her new release, Promise Me, Cowboy which just became available today on all major e-retailer websites!

Here’s more about Promise Me, Cowboy

PromiseMeCowboy_CJCarmichael_med
Sage Carrigan never meant to be the other woman. Unfortunately, bronco rider Dawson O’Dell neglected to mention he was married the night he invited her to his bed after they’d both placed first in their rodeo events. When his wife walked in on them – Sage was deeply hurt and humiliated. After an accident in the ring the next day, Sage decides she’s quitting the rodeo–and cowboys—to become a chocolatier in her hometown ranching community, Marietta, Montana. She’s doing just fine, but then Dawson shows up —five years later, with a little girl in tow. He’s here for the Copper Mountain Rodeo hoping to win big. But he’s also got plans of settling down with his daughter and buying a house—the very same one that Sage has been dreaming about. He says he’s here for her and he’s making lots of promises. But can he keep them?

To celebrate CJ’s release, I’m giving away a special prize pack which consists of a bundle of my favorite  CJ Carmichael novels, a Starbucks drink card and more fun reader goodies!  For a chance to win, tell me what you think of the blurb, or if you’ve already had a chance to read Promise Me, Cowboy, share your thoughts about the story! Contest ends Friday night and I’ll announce a winner on Saturday.  And do help me spread the word about this lovely story and this gifted wonderful friend of mine!

I look forward to reading Promise Me, Cowboy.
I am in need of something to make me feel happy again.
I have always loved CJ’s books I have a collection in my keeper bins.

  2. I haven’t read the story but it looks like Sage has had a tough time and I would be interested to see whether she is able to trust Dawson.

  3. Count me in please!
I loved CJ’s Coffee Creek, Montana series … Harts of the Rodeo series … and some stand-alone books … so would love to read ALL CJ books I can possibly find! Thanks for the chance to help that process along, Jane, and thanks, CJ, for writing such great page-turners!

  4. CJ Carmichael’s novel looks intriguing. Jane, since reading your book, “She’s Gone Country,” I’ve had an itch to read another cowboy themed novel. 🙂 I’ve never read Carmichael’s books, but I believe this is one I’d love.

  5. Love the blurb. Sounds like Sage is going to have her hands full. I really want to read this book, do love some cowboys.

  6. I love the blurb. It sounds like a great read. I have a feeling I will get the urge to eat chocolate while I’m reading it due to Sage’s career. 🙂 And how can you not love a book with cowboys, rodeos, a setting in Montana? Oh, and romance too. 🙂

  7. Cowboys are soooooo sexy especially when they are bad boys too!! Nothing is sweeter than when a man seeks out a woman, especially if he wrongs her. To also have a cute little daughter is a plus. Now is he buying the house because he knows she wants it….?

  8. I have rad Promise Me, Cowboy and it’s a nice romantic story. It contains great characters and I for one look forward to reading more stories set in Marietta.
This is the first story I have read from CJ Carmichael but it will not be the last.

  9. I LOVE the book. How can you go wrong with a hot cowboy, who also happens to be a father and a chocolate shop! These are a few of my favorite things (could you hear me singing that?).

  10. wow I am not usually one for the cheating in the story but I can honestly say that the blurb makes me think I would really enjoy the book

  11. The blurb sound great and I’m adding Promise Me, Cowboy to my wish list and I hope I’ll be able to read it soon( I need to read the second book in the series first).

  12. I love C.J. books and Promise me Cowboy is really good! I love her books and reading about cowboys and rodeo’s are one of my favorites! love the photo’s of you both! I heard she writing more books about Sage’s sisters and can’t wait for the series for I wanted to know more about her mom’s affair and why her dad won’t let her look thru her things. I’d love to win more books of hers and your goodies are the best! I can’t wait to read your book on this series!

  13. The blurb is great and I can’t wait to read the book!! I’ve never read any of her work…but it’s on my list now! 🙂

  14. I absolutely loved Promise Me, Cowboy. I’m so glad you and the other writers came up with this fabulous idea to write these books. I’ve enjoyed every one I have read so far and anxiously awaiting the next (and the ones after that).

  16. Hi CJ and Jane
I enjoyed reading the blurb and will definitely look forward to reading Promise Me, Cowboy. It’s show that we can and do make mistakes but hopefully learn from them.
    Thank you Jane,
    Ginger

  17. I loved the book! I couldn’t believe how quickly I read through it, I didn’t want it to end. I am hoping that there will be future books with Sage’s sisters…hint….hint

I am enjoying all of the Copper Mountain Rodeo books!

  18. Sounds great! I don’t think I’ve ever read one of CJ’s books before, but I’m hoping I can pick this one up this weekend 🙂

  19. I love the premise, but there’s a small part of me wondering if this story will have a HEA based on the way it’s worded. Even a small hint of an HEA (such as “The last five years have changed him”) would make me feel more relaxed about getting that HEA. :oD

As always, Jane, I love the personal stories you share with us!

  22. The blurb is like a hook with a worm on it…..gotta get it! Just downloaded onto my Kindle. Will be happily snuggled up on my comfy chair in my library reading away!

  23. A chocolatier and a cowboy–two great tastes that taste great together. (yes, it’s almost Halloween and I’m thinking about candy.)

  24. I really enjoyed the blurb. I haven’t read the book yet but I am looking forward to it. Would love to see what brought Dawson to Sage five years later and how it ends. Thanks for the post .

  25. The blurb is like one of those trailers that has me wanting to go to the theater IMMEDIATELY. I’d like to see how she handles the challenges of trusting a man who cheated and what his side of the story is.

  26. Can’t wait to have the time to start the Montana Born series. Having a very busy time and I am really missing my reading breaks.
The blurb looks great and it looks like a very interesting story.
