Crazy Day

I am supposed to be hard at work on the revisions for my Harlequin book, but am instead struggling to figure out how to be in Jefferson, Texas next weekend for the 2009 Girlfriend Weekend and how to get my kids to the right places this weekend when their sports and activities completely overlap.

Easy on the Eyes coverBut in all the craziness is excitement, too, because today I’m able to share my new cover for Easy on the Eyes, my July book with 5 Spot. This is Tiana’s story and it’s a great cover for her book. I’m very pleased with it and I’d love to hear what you think, too.

If any of my Texas fans are up for a fun book and girls weekend, check out The Pulpwood Queen’s Book Club  for more information as I’d love to see you there. Jefferson, Texas is an hour or so from Shreveport and a two and a half hour drive from Dallas but its a wonderful historic town and I can’t wait to join in all the fun.

  1. Hi Jane, I’m new to posting on your blog, but have been an avid reader for some time…ever since you gave me some excellent advice on my writing. Can’t say thank you enough. Now about that cover…it’s awesome! Definitely an eye-catching cover. Can’t wait until it’s released.

  2. Jane,
I love, love, love the cover!! And so wish I could be in Texas next weekend!! Sounds like a lot of fun! Have a great time! Can’t wait to read Easy on the Eyes!

  3. It’s an awesome cover – the girl in the red dress reminds me of Angelina Jolie. Hope your weekend plans work out, Jane 🙂

  4. OH MAN! I would love to be there and see you again! (it is only 4 hours away)

But my hubby already promised a weekend getaway for us then :(.

    love the cover!

  5. The cover looks awesome! It will really jump off the shelves!

Good luck with coordinating the weekend activities…that sort of extra-curricular choreography — as I call it — is such a fine art!

  6. Jane,

Love the cover. The woman could be you…at first I thought, wow! Jane is doing her own covers. I love read and I think every girl should have one. Anyway, it looks wonderful. Congrats!

Have fun at the Girlfriend Weekend!

  7. I love the cover. Do we really have to wait until July? Drat….how about a special give away of the book to your faithful blog followers?

  8. It looks like I’m the only one here, but I’m not a big fan of the cover.

I would suggest replacing the woman in a red dress with one of a woman (no problem with red!) who has more of a confident stance. She looks like shes crouching a little bit and it makes it look like an unprofessional photo…

Also, the blacked out area behind her (under the photographers) is a little odd… Maybe show the photographers’ legs.

One more thing… I think the stars are a bit too uniform. I would suggest varying the sizes of them a bit to create a more interesting pattern.

    Hope that helps!

  9. Hi Jane,
Glad to see you back on your blog.
Love the cover! That could be you, pre-recent pregnancy of course. 🙂
    Happy New Year!
    Jill

  10. OMG, Jane! I love this cover…it is amazing! I think the bright red color will attract lots of new readers! I think I like it the best of all your covers.

  11. Fun cover- looking forward to the book- wish I lived close to where you’ll be in Texas. Unfortunately, no such luck!
    Good luck with your organizing!

  12. What I like about the cover is the typeface or font (not sure which is the right term) – it “swings” and is pleasing to look at. I love the symmetry of the letters and the repeating pattern of the e, y and s in easy and eyes! Your name looks good, too, Jane! The cover is “eye” catching in spirit AND form. Outstanding!

  13. Love the cover, Jane. It is so different.
I look forward to the books release.
Your weeks sound like my week. Not enought hours in the day this week to do everything I need to.

  14. Great cover – definitely one that would stop me in my tracks while cruising through Barnes & Noble, or online @Amazon.com! Hip, chic and elegant all wrapped up in one.

  15. I’m in agreement with most everyone…the cover is great and will jump right off the shelves…and can’t wait to read it.
    Congrats.
    Mary J.

  16. I love the new book cover. It really catches the eye! Hope you get all of your plans straightened out and make your trip to Texas.

    Take care.

    Micole

  17. This is gorgeous and while I haven’t read the book (obviously-:)), it seems to fit with what we already know about Tiana. Congratulations!

  18. I love the cover! The red totally “pops” and it will jump off teh shelves amid the sea of pink books. I can’t wait to read it!!!!!

Wish I could come to Texas! Eh! The never ending choreography of kids’ activities! Mine is a bit easier since my two do the same things (dance and band) but this summer and the next couple) will be a challenge with both being in different marching bands! I can’t wait! LOL Have a great weekend! Its blizzarding here in Chicago/Milwaukee.

  19. Great cover, Jane. I’m glad that they gave you another winning cover.
Hope that your are staying safe and warm with all that crazy weather out your way.
    Good luck with the revisions.

  20. Omg. Did I just read Harlequin book? YAY! Oh Gosh. I don’t read Harlequin anymore [ I think I explained to you before why I wasn’t starting to like the line anymore]… but I love your harelquins soo much. is it third part of that series uhh the desert kings? hope so… even if it’s not I’ll pick it up for sure… and I’m def. reading easy on the eyes. Gah the cover is AWESOME. the best cover yet definitely! uuuggh…and that plastic surgeon… I’m definitely imagining Grey’s Antatomy’s McSteamy. lolol

  21. Wow! I love the cover! As a person who usually judges a book by it’s cover let me tell you that I will definetly be picking this book up at the book store! Awesome cover!

  22. Hi Jane! I like the cover as well! I have a question. Why does it take so long for a book to come out when it has been written for awhile now. I’m just curious. Probably because I want to read it now! 🙂
    Anyway..it looks great!

    Cathy

  23. Love the cover and echo what everyone else has said, the red really pops and will help the books off the shelves. The cover is what made me want to read Odd Mom Out.

Enjoy Texas, hope you have nice weather – take care of you. :o)

I miss my kids being young (true statement) but do not miss trying to get them to two places at once. They are both teens now, so ‘choreograph’ isn’t so stressful anymore.

Can’t wait for the new book.

    peace out

  24. Hi, Jane:

I am fairly new to your website. Have been reading your blogs since I watched Flirting with Forty on-line. I had read part of your story in a magazine sometime ago and also saw you in More magazine, then when I saw clips for the movie, I knew it sounded familiar. Now I can’t wait to hear all about you and Ty – the real couple in the story.

As far as the book cover, I found it very eye catching. Red is certainly in now and it looks very modern. Best of luck on the new novels and with the next few months of your pregnancy. Can’t wait to hear if it’s a boy or a girl. Either way, my prayers are that you are both healthy.

  25. Had a good laugh about your new lingerie! I recently made a purchase that has changed my life too. I am, how shall I put this delicately, well endowed and sometimes when it is a bit chilly outside everyone knows I am too! There are things called silicone gel guards that can now hide the evidence. My life will never be the same–freedom!!!
