An Autumn Romance – the Movie!

Hi everyone,

My newsletter went out today in which I shared more details about The Tycoon’s Kiss movie which is now called An Autumn Romance, starring Jessica Lowndes and Chad Michael Murray, and premiers on the new GAC family network on October 23rd!

If you received the newsletter but didn’t see a tv channel option that works for you, here’s a longer list of places that carry the GAC network –

I am so excited for the movie and am planning to get completely in a Fall-ish mood by baking my delicious pumpkin bread, which is a family favorite, especially for my 12 year old, Mac! If you’d like to try it out too, here’s the recipe.

Jane’s Favorite Pumpkin Bread

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups all-purpose flour, spooned into measuring cup, leveled off
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tsp ground nutmeg
1-1/2 sticks (3/4 cup) unsalted butter, softened
1-1/2 cups white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 15oz can 100% pure pumpkin (I use Libby’s)

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 325°.
Grease 2 8×4 loaf pans with butter and dust with flour.
Combine flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a medium bowl. Whisk well and set aside.
In a large electric mixer bowl, beat butter and sugar on medium speed until just blended.
Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Continue beating until light and fluffy.
Beat in pumpkin. Mixture should look grainy and curdled. That’s okay.
Add flour mixture and mix on low speed until combined. Turn batter into prepared pans.
Bake for 65-75 minutes or until done.
Let loaves cool in pan for 10 minutes then turn out onto wire rack to cool completely.
Fresh out of the oven, the loaves have a deliciously crisp crust. If they last beyond a day, you can toast individual slices to get same fresh-baked effect. Enjoy!

  1. My favorite thing about the fall season are the apple and pumpkin festivals, the pumpkin spice products, and the shared love of the season my daughter and I have.

  2. Lots of favorite things about fall. The cooler weather, changing color of the leaves, pumpkin spice goodies, fall festivals, my birthday tomorrow Oct. 8 among many other reasons.

  3. Congratulations–so excited for your upcoming movies on GAC Family–so glad that Bill Abbott is at the helm of the network!!!
Autumn has always been my favorite time of year. I live in the beautiful mountains of VA–always gorgeous–breathtaking in the Fall. With a tapestry of colors from nature’s palette, and painted by a master hand, the scenery is stunning. The deep, rustic reds are my favorites. The scents of Autumn are equally appealing. The smell of the leaves–especially those in the piles my grandfather would rake up and I would jump in and demolish. Apple pies, cinnamon rolls, and molasses cookies from my grandmother’s kitchen. Candles, fireplaces, and campfires with marshmallows toasting on sticks. School supplies–oh, how I loved the smell of fresh pencils, notebooks, crayons, and chalk, and new school books. Pumpkins everywhere (definitely making your pumpkin bread recipe)!!! I love Autumn.

  4. I loved The Tycoon’s Kiss and look forward to seeing how they adapt it as a movie. And also excited to see A Christmas Miracle for Daisy.
Two books from the Sheenan series is fantastic!

Fave fall thing, once it cools down in Texas, is drinking tea or cider.

  5. Congratulations!

My birthday. Cooler weather, crisp apples, boots and sweaters, college football, changing color of leaves. So much that I love about Autumn.

  6. I love sunny fall days and taking hikes/nature walks with a light jacket or fleece sweater. No sweating and no biting bugs!

  7. I love everything pumpkin. Love Fall flowers . Color change off the leaves and don’t mind raking leaves.
    Plus weather is cooler.

  8. Love the leaves changing colors and the crunching sound of people walking on them; the cooler temps are a bonus I enjoy.

  9. I am so excited for you! I love the book. I love the crisp, misty mornings of fall, and seeing all the decorations.

  10. Hi Jane! I do enjoy Autumn and kind of feel like F. Scott Fitzgerald who said, “Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the Fall.”

  11. Fall is my favorite season of the year.  I love the bright orange pumpkins, hayrides, fall festivals! Even the food is better, love the soups, chilis, and pumpkin spice chia tea! I love the change of the season, the crisp air, the cooler temperatures,  the gold, russets and burgundy colors of the beautiful, changing leaves, except they are falling. Love the smell of burning leaves, and  I love the sound of  the leaves crushing underfoot when I walk!  Don’t get me wrong, it’s not all wonderful! Looking forward to watching The Tycoon’s Kiss on Hulu!
    Congratulations!

  12. I do love the autumn colors, the warm days and cool crisp nights and hot chocolate.

I’m excited about the movie too.

  13. I love the smell of the air when the seasons change. Hoodies & sweaters and please don’t hate me – pumpkin anything. Lol

  14. My horse is so happy in the Autumn because there are no bugs to bite him when we go for a ride in the beautiful woods filled with red and gold leaves!

  15. I love cooler weather and would love to see the leaves changing! Time for more pumpkin bread!
    I can’t wait to watch…

  16. My birthday was on the 7th of October so I really like fall for that reason and
I love breaking out the long sleeved blouses. I like that night comes sooner. I seem to rest better during this time. So many exciting things happening for you Jane, I am thrilled for you.
