First Stop… San Francisco!

Well, today is the day! The Good Woman released today and the reviews so far have been wonderful and I feel so happy and grateful for all the love and support from my readers. It’s been so fun to watch all the good wishes come in from Facebook, Twitter and the countless emails.  I am so blessed! The next two weeks will be very busy as I leave on my Good Woman book tour to sign books and meet readers.  My first stop is San Francisco! Tonight I will be at Books Inc. in the Marina at 7pm.                                 Then on Wednesday the 5th, I will be … Continue reading First Stop… San Francisco!

Wednesday!! Anaheim! See me!

In just two days time, I will be joining over 400 authors–yes, 400 authors!!–at the Anaheim Convention Center in California for the 2012 “Readers for Life” Literacy Autographing!  It’s an amazing, crazy, crowded, wonderful event, as we’re all there signing, and buying books, to help raise money to promote literacy and if you’re going to be in the area, or can get to Anaheim, you should go.  It’s a great cause, and selfishly, I’d love to see you. Full details: 2012 “Readers for Life” Literacy Autographing Wednesday, July 25, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Anaheim Convention Center, Ballroom (third floor) http://www.rwa.org/cs/literacy_autographing Proceeds from book sales go to ProLiteracy Worldwide, Read Orange County, and Literacy Volunteers—Huntington Valley.  And hope you understand, because … Continue reading Wednesday!! NYC Reader Get-Together

I haven’t been blogging much since I’m writing hard (hard, hard, hard!) on my Harlequin trying to get it in.  It was due June 1st so you can see why I’m frantic and I leave Sunday for the massive but amazing annual RWA conference, which takes place this year in NY’s fantastic Times Square. I heard from a couple readers in the NY area that they want to see me so I’ve thrown a fun, quick reader get together for NY.  I have to limit the headcount due to hotel seating caps, so it is first come, first serve if you want to join in the fun! And now the details for the get-together… What:  Join Jane Porter & Friends … Continue reading NYC Reader Get-Together

Wed Wine Tasting & Fun

I attended another wonderful event last night here in Bellevue with moms from Cherry Crest Elementary.  The women were really nice and very fun and made me feel so comfortable.  I appreciate all those who have bid on an evening with me at their school or non-profit auctions and hope you know that I’m the lucky one to get to meet such awesome women! I have another event in Bellevue this coming Wednesday, May 11th from 6 to 8pm at the Bellevue Club.  Not familiar with the Bellevue Club?  It’s at 11200 Southeast Sixth Street, Bellevue, WA 98004 and there is a $25 charge for the wine tasting, but if you’re interested in attending and don’t belong to the Bellevue Club … Continue reading Wed Wine Tasting & Fun

Happy Easter

On Friday Ty and I took some time out for ourselves and drove to Skagit Valley to see the tulips and have lunch in La Conner.  All the tulips were already gone except for a few fields but we had a great time just driving and chilling in Ty’s classic Chevy truck.  It was fun to go for a drive, especially as Friday and Saturday were beautiful with blue skies. Today isn’t a blue sky day but the kids still had an Easter Egg hunt in the light drizzle and are now stuffed full of chocolate and candy and its not even noon yet!  We’re heading to a brunch at Bellevue Club a little later…have never been there for a … Continue reading Happy Easter

Events & Super Cool Contest

I’ve got so much happening it’s hard to keep it all straight. On the good news side, the Flirting with Forty movie will air for the first time in Australia on Christmas Day! Hurray! If you’re one of my Aussie readers, Foxtel’s Universal channel will be playing it at 8:30 pm. Very, very cool!! My not so good news is that I’m having to cancel a couple of my events next week to deal with family stuff and I hate canceling anything, much less opportunities to meet with my readers so huge apologies.  🙁 To make it up to you for not being able to do next week’s appearances, I’m hosting an incredibly cool contest—I’m giving away here on my … Continue reading Events & Super Cool Contest

NJ Readers Support Jane’s Charities

I’m posting pictures from last weekend’s events out of order because I thought my NJ readers who bought books and made donations to benefit World Vision and Operation Smile would be happy to hear that their efforts were multiplied due to a matching grant from a corporate donor.  Thanks to all of you for your generosity and help as we were able to buy an operation for one chid through Operation Smile, as well as 20 warm blankets for children after their surgery.  Each child gets to take the warm fuzzy blanket home, too.  Through World Vision we purchased a cow for a single mother to help her provide income and food for her children.  I hope those of you … Continue reading NJ Readers Support Jane’s Charities

Reader Dinners

My reader dinners have been the best thing I’ve done in terms of career in years. I LOVE meeting with my readers and having a chance to sit down and just relax and talk over a good meal. Why host my own dinners? For one, I love treating my loyal readers to a girls night out. And for another, it’s so hard to talk in a bookstore setting, and as more and more bookstores cut back on signings and formal events I find that I end up stressing quite a bit about the success of a store event. In stores there is definitely pressure to perform–how many people will come? How many books will be sold? Does the bookstore like … Continue reading Reader Dinners

Halloween Fun & Games

Mac had so much fun trick or treating with his big brothers! It only took a couple houses before he got the hang of it. You walk, knock, wait and then take candy. The best houses were the houses with dogs. Then you walk, knock, wait and pet the doggie. There was some debate though over Mac’s costume. Was he a cow? (That’s what I thought.) Or a Panda? (That’s what Jake and son Ty said). Either way, he was so cute and so happy. Such a great night! But now it’s November 2nd and there are a lot of events coming up for me! Several are in the Seattle area (3 private auction party fundraisers this weekend plus my … Continue reading Halloween Fun & Games
