The Good Daughter Launch & Readers Guide!

The Good Daughter, Book 2 of the Brennan Sisters officially releases today!  Hooray!!!

So happy to have this book available for all. I love, love, love Kit and her family and the bad boy she meets that she shouldn’t like…

This story means so much to me, has lots of topical stuff in it, which makes it great for book clubs, too. We’ve made it easy for my readers in book clubs and reading groups by uploading the Readers Guide to my website. You can download it in an easily-printed PDF. Here are a few sample questions from the Readers Discussion Guide:

In the first chapter, the Brennan family comes together to celebrate Cass’s birthday. When asked to make a wish, Gabi shouted, “Wish for a baby.” Tommy responded with, “We don’t need a baby.” Tears filled Cass’ eyes. Do you think that Tommy was being insensitive with this comment or realistic regarding their history with trying to conceive?

Kit decides to take matters into her own hands to become a mom even though her family wouldn’t approve. Do you think Kit feeling the pressure of her “biological clock” ticking is causing her to go against her morals?

When Kit meets Michael in the bar – his first impression seemed sincere. But by the end of their first date, she begins to realize he’s different then the person she met at the bar in Alameda. How do you think Kit’s previous long-term relationship and her family values prepared her for Michael?

You can download the entire Readers Guide for your book club or reading group right here. Be sure to check our all of the extras for The Good Daughter, too, including my events page where it lists all my appearances in the next couple of months, including tonight’s launch party in New Jersey, tomorrow night’s party in Albany, NY, and Thursday night’s party in Springfield, MA.

And since I know not everyone can join me in person tonight, I’ve got a very special launch party box to give away. This  launch party bag in a box includes signed copies of both Odd Mom Out and Mrs. Perfect, my two connected stories set in Bellevue, WA, a coral pink fuzzy blanket, a pink cosmetic bag with JP reader goodies, and a $5 Starbucks drink card. Want to win?  Just tell me what you’re reading or doing this week!  Contest ends Feb 7th at midnight PST, and the winner will be announced on Saturday!  Good luck and have a great week. I’m thrilled to be spending this week with so many of my readers on the East Coast, then in Portland, and finally on Sunday, back home in Orange County!

So, it’s fix up the house week around here. 🙂

Good luck with your new book. I hope to read it soon!

  10. All kids are finally at school, so I am spending the week recovering from flu as well as making ready for my son Edward’s 4th birthday on Thursday. 13. Hi Jane,
Hopefully reading the Good Daughter! I am hoping my pre-ordered version is sitting on my IPad. I am also reading the first book (but the last one for me) of Stephanie Bond’s Party Crashers. So fun.

  14. Hi Jane,
Congratulations on the release of your new book! I can’t wait to read it. I am curently reading Titanic Survivor: Violet Jessop by John Maxtone-Graham. I know it’s not quite a romance novel, but I’ve always been interested in anything related to the Titanic. I suppose I shouldn’t be reading such a book just days before my vacation on a cruise ship! Have a great week! 🙂

  15. Hi Jane,

I’ll be reading The Good Daughter once I get home and download it to my nook! 🙂 Can’t wait!! WOOOOHOOOO!! And Congrats!!

  23. Currently reading Explosive Eighteen by Janet Evanovich. Notorious Nineteen will have to wait though-just got an email saying that The Good Daughter was shipped today.

  24. Congratulations, Jane! I’m looking forward to meeting Kit, her bad-boy boyfriend, and her family.
I’ve been rushing around a lot lately, so as of today I’m “chillaxing” (chilling out/relaxing). Between loads of laundry, finding my desk, sorting through cupboards while replacing “mactac”, I hope to put my feet up and watch some recorded shows.
My current read is Kate Walker’s BOUND BY BLACKMAIL (an oldie but hopefully goodie).

  25. What a fun giveaway! I’m currently reading “Lets Pretend This Never Happened” by Jenny Lawson. Its not my typical book I’d choose to read, but a friend said it was hilarious so I gave it a shot. It is pretty funny.

I’m excited to order and read The Good Daughter, now too!

  26. Hi Jane!

  83. Hey! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are
you using for this website? I’m getting fed up of WordPress because I’ve had problems with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.
